Acoustic ArtPanels are designed to reduce reflective or reverberant sound within a space.
Hard surfaces e.g. plastered walls, glazing and hard floors all reflect sound waves creating a reverberant feel to a space.
The introduction of an absorbent finish such as Acoustic ArtPanels allow for the sound waves to be absorbed as opposed to reflected.
This reduces the reverberation time and makes for a more comfortable acoustic feel.
Every space will have a different requirement as there are so many variables to consider.
To simplify matters, a broad rule of thumb is to consider providing approx ? of the floor area as m² guide for the wall treatment.
If we use an example of a room that is 4 metres by 5 metres:
4 x 5 = 20m² divided by 3 is approx 6m² of treatment required.
This would equate to approx 4 x standard size Acoustic ArtPanels of 1200mm x 1200mm each.
The important point to remember is that the introduction of any absorbent surface will help to reduce reverberation.
Acoustic ArtPanels not only provide an absorbent surface, but also an aesthethic solution that is easy to install. Additionally, a room can be ‘tuned’ by adding more panels as necessary.
For the more technically minded, Acoustic ArtPanels will meet Class C absorption at 25mm. We can also provide Acoustic ArtPanels at 50mm which will meet Class A absorption, please contact us for further information.

Full acoustic testing of Acoustic ArtPanels has been carried out to BS EN ISO 354:2003 by Sound Research Laboratories and full test data is available on request.
Individual Acoustic ArtPanels can be made in any size up to a maximum of 1200mm x 2400mm
